The YES project began at Providence House, a Christian youth and community centre that has been working in Battersea for over 50 years. It has a strong history in relation to music being the home of the sound system and regular Friday night dances enjoyed by so many throughout the 80’s and 90’s. The YES project has developed and grown in recent years, hosting concerts and live lounge events to encourage young people to perform and develop their creative skills.
Since January this year after holding a series of auditions, Providence House has been working with a cast of 35 young performers, ages 13-25, holding regular creative workshops including vocal training, rap and song writing, dance, filming and editing.
The theme of the show is ‘Anything is Possible’. At this time, even more so, we need to be reminded that this is true and we hope that listening to our show tonight will lift your spirits.
The Radio show will only show part of the huge amount of work that has gone into making the Y.E.S. Project a reality. Below is information about the people, organisations and sponsors that have supported the project to happen. All working together for the youth of Battersea.
