What are our Children and Families during Covid?
From Sue, our Children and Families Worker.

I have been keeping in touch with most families every day by sending out an uplifting ‘thought for the day’ along with a song, to bring encouragement and hope from God’s word. You can find them here on the website, or ask to join the list of those receiving them.

We’ve also set up a weekly zoom meeting where children and parents can chat and find out what others have been doing. If you want to join in and have a child who attends Providence – get in touch.

Our families are involved in home schooling which isn’t what most parents would choose to do! If I can be of any help, as an ex Primary School Teacher, please let me know!

Also, if you or anyone you know, is in need of a delivery of food, primarily fresh fruit and vegetables, please let me know and we can put you in touch with Hadas and Waste Not Want Not. She regularly goes to Covent Garden to pick up fruit and vegetables – it’s a bit of pot luck – you may get something you’ve never cooked before, but at least it’s healthy and you could find a new delicious meal to produce!

Our children have sent in their pictures which I’ve printed off and they are put up in the window of Providence House. Have a look when you next pass by. Here are some of them.

We don’t know when we will be able to restart activities for children at Providence House, or quite what they will look like. But have no doubt, as soon as we can we will be open!

In the meantime, keep safe, keep social distancing, and keep in touch!
